Èlia Vives Gadea is an environmental technician. She has a strong passion in marine environmental conservation and education. Èlia has previously worked in marine environmental education with the company Anèl·lides, Serveis ambientals marins based in Barcelona. She has experience in marine environmental awareness and outreach, specialised in marine biodiversity in Barcelona and coast of Catalonia. She did her final project in the conservation of Barcelona beach, doing a diagnosis and designing an awareness campaign to involve the society in the conservation of the beaches in Barcelona. As an intern in corporate and tourism sustainability for Oceanogami, she is helping to engage citizens, companies and tourism sector to create responsibility and awareness in marine debris and plastics. She has contributed in creating social media content and website, provide content for the blog, organizing awareness campaigns, helping to develop a project in ecotourism, representing the company in the TV and performing talks and workshops for companies and general public. Her professional goals are to work for conservation and management of the marine environment, gender balance and social inclusion. On her free time, she enjoys doing snorkelling, hiking and she loves cetaceans. She is native Catalan and Spanish and talks medium-level English.
