Saga Hedstigen Sundblad has a Bsc in environmental science with specialization in environmental analysis and is currently studying a Msc in water management at Lund University, Sweden. She a has an unwavering passion for marine conservation and environmental work. During her Bsc - she did a two-month internship with The Cape Town Environmental Education Trust working on The Gantouw Project, a biodiversity project focused on preserving the local vegetation where she learned the practical aspects of an environmental conservation project. How an environmental project is run on a day-to-day basis, how adapt to changing circumstances and how to work with/around continuously rising challenges. Besides hoping to build on the knowledge and experience gained in Cape Town, she is hoping to specifically get an extensive insight into how Oceanogami manages environmental projects where social and economic needs are integrated with environmental objectives. During her experiences with working on conservation projects, she has proven excellent at problem solving. Saga is comfortable facing a problem head-on, analyzing potential pitfalls, identifying solutions and implementing them successfully. In the future, Saga hopes to work on and manage projects specially dedicated to rebuilding collapsed marine ecosystems.
